Little Blog, property magnate

Little Blog, Sunshine, Mom and Dad have been playing Junior Monopoly. Every time you buy a property, you put up a lemonade stand on that square, in the colour of your playing token.

This gives Little Blog an idea.

“Daddy,” she asks, “how do you play Monopoly for real?”

“Well, Little Blog, you buy real properties and then you find people to…”

Little Blog interrupts: “I know! I know!”

Harry Potter 8: Harry Potter and the Rise of Little Blog

Little Blog and her big sister, Sunshine, are browsing in a bookstore, and Sunshine wants to know what Little Blog has been reading.

“I was reading a madjamine (magazine) called Bratz not because I like it but because I wanted to see what was in it.”

“What was in it, Little Blog?”

“There was lots and lots of Harry Potter pictures, like I saw in all the other madjamines, the Barbie madjamine, the Winnie the Pooh madjamine, I think it is an advertiment (advertisement). But I don’t know if it was for a Harry Potter movie or a Harry Potter book.”

Little Blog’s economic miracle

Little Blog, being only 5 years old,  may not yet have a degree in economics, but she has a sound understanding of fundamental economic principles.

“Mommy, can you buy me a real camera please? A real, real one?” she asks as she watches the waves crash on the beach.

“Little Blog, do you think money grows on trees?”

“I don’t know,” says Little Blog, uncertainty on her face for all of eight seconds.

“Actually, I do!” she shouts. “To make money, first you take paper and you make money from the paper. And to make paper, first you take trees, and you make paper from the trees. You told me that, Mommy. So money does grow on trees!”

We can see a string of ships out at sea, heading for the harbour, and Little Blog is getting worried about pirates again.

“Mommy, are there pirates where we are staying?”

“What gives you that idea, Little Blog?”

“I think there are pirates and there are baddies, because I’ve heard of them, but I never saw one.”

“I’m very pleased you’ve never seen one, Little Blog. It’s not the kind of person you ever want to see.”

“But Mommy, what if I bump into one?”

“Where will you bump into one, Little Blog?”

“Maybe at the shops.”

“The shops?”

Little Blog’s shopping dilemma

Following the Great Shopping List Disaster and pointed enquiries from the credit card company, Little Blog has been instructed not only to ask for permission if she wants to shop on the Internet, but also to do so under adult supervision.

And no, her big sister, Sunshine, is not an adult, even if she is almost 10.

Today she announced: “Mom, I really have to go shopping on the computer.”

“Why, Little Blog?”

“To buy cheese for Sunshine.”

“Why do you want to buy cheese for your sister?”
